Jack’s Got Skills

Art by Jackson

SideWiki ConversationThe Social Den is always interested in experiencing new artists and sharing our experiences with them on the social web. There is no better place to share art and information than through the unique channels the internet provides. We base our platform on creativity; that also includes experiencing the works of others. Creativity is our driving force, and social media is the vehicle we use to transport it. That is why we regularly feature new artists at The Social Den.

As members of social communities, we feel it is our responsibility to do our part in keeping things interesting and fresh. Part of achieving that goal involves discovering and supporting as many talented artists as possible. Our latest creative collaboration is with Jackson Thornburg.

Jackson is a local artist in Bozeman, MT. He is an avid snowboarder and a talented artist. After graduating with an art degree from Montana State University, Jackson has gone on to see his work featured in several art shows.

We think Jackson’s work is intriguing and engaging; it transports viewers to surrealistic dreamlands filled with strange perspectives and primal images. As part of an ongoing project with us at The Social Den, Jackson created a set of social media-related images for the world to use and enjoy.

We thrive by constantly pushing the creative social media envelope in as many ways as possible. Jackson’s series of “Bluebirds” are a unique vision of the Twitter mascot; exploring some of the deeper and more personal connotations of what an avatar truly represents. If you like the Bluebirds, there’s more where that came from. Check out Jackson’s blog and experience a greater range of his work. We hope you enjoy it—we certainly did.
